How long have you been in the Asheville area?
We finished school in California, got married in Maryland and then moved to Asheville in 1993.

Tell us about your family.
Steve is a Rehab Manager.  Our dog Aggie goes to work with him every day.  We have two boys.  Jake is a senior at MPA.  Josh is a sophomore at MPA.  We also have a giant white cat named Sully.

How did you first get connected with APCS?
I participated in chapels and classroom worships at APCS for years.  Then enrolled Jake in first grade and Josh came the next year in K.
What preparation did you have for your role at APCS?
I got my Masters in Religious Education from La Sierra.  But strangely, my years as a hospice chaplain did a lot to prepare me to listen and lead and teach.
What insight about APCS does your role give you that most people don't know?
How very very hard teachers work.  And how much they care for their students.
What do you hope for APCS?
That lots more people discover all that we have to offer!
What do you do when you are not at APCS?
Drive Jake to MPA activities and pick him up from MPA...:)  I am taking several classes.  I also teach a Sabbath School class at Foster and some times fill in as an on-call Chaplain for hospice.
What are your hobbies?
I love to read, walk, travel and hang out with my boys!
What would we be surprised to learn about you?
I did a Tough Mudder with Jessica and Josh's mom, Sydney's mom, and Cameron's mom.  We did 12 miles of obstacles, got covered in mud, jumped, crawled, swam, climbed and got electrocuted.  And yet had a great time together!
